Skatepark Fund-Finder Contest
Official Rules & Requirements:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE OR TO BE SELECTED

The Skatepark Fund-Finder (the “Contest”) allows qualified participants (”Participants”) to enter their skatepark project by submitting text and images communicating why they should be considered by the SFTH panel or straightfromthehip.net website visitors. Participants may upload their submissions (”Submissions”) through straightfromthehip.net (the “Site”). Each Submission will be reviewed by the SFTH panel (the “Judging Panel”) from straightfromthehip.net (”Sponsor”) in accordance with these Official Rules.

Contest Term:

Submissions may be posted beginning on September 20, 2007 and ending on November 30, 2007 (the “Contest Term”).

Eligibility:

All Straight From The Hip entries must be from a municipality, state or local agency (including public school systems or public projects), an organized skatepark committee or group, or a legal non-profit organization. This contest is limited to the continental US and Canada. All entries are subject to review by the SFTH Judging Panel to confirm eligibility before the entry will be posted to the site for viewing and voting on.

The Skatepark Fund-Finder contest is void where prohibited.

Submissions:

Submissions may not feature participants damaging public property or engaging in any other conduct that the Judging Panel, in its sole discretion, deems to be unduly violent or dangerous. Submissions may not violate any applicable laws and regulations. Submissions may not contain any profanity or sexually explicit content. Submissions may not defame or invade the rights of privacy of any person, living or dead, or otherwise infringe upon any third party’s personal or proprietary rights. Participants shall be solely responsible for securing necessary consents for the use of any trademark, image or other intellectual property featured in the Submission.

Submissions that, in the sole discretion of the Judging Panel, fail to meet any of the criteria set forth in the Official Rules & Requirements or contain any objectionable content will be disqualified.

All submissions will be judged based on the following criteria: (1) demonstrated commitment, (2) project feasibility – we want to see quality parks actually get built!, (3) creativity (left open-ended, i.e. how creative your fundraising approach efforts to date, images used for your story, preliminary design sketches, the story writing itself, etc), (4) projected benefits to the community (anything unique, point out the specifics, how you’re ensuring quality, etc), (5) proximity to other skateparks in the region.

This Contest is based on your ability to creatively present your skatepark project case and it’s meant to be fun and engaging. The odds of your Submission being selected by the Judging Panel depend entirely upon the quality of the Submissions received. Based on the criteria described above, the Judging Panel will select (1) Submission as the Grand Prize Winner. The visitors to the website during the contest term will view and vote to determine the top (1) Most Public Votes winner along with 5 Runner-Ups (2nd - 6th Place overall votes). Submissions are eligible for one (1) prize per contest.

Participation in the Contest will be conclusively deemed to be a waiver of any and all claims, including for publicity, invasion of privacy, defamation and ownership and use of Submissions.

All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply

Participants shall be solely liable for any injury or damage caused by participation in the Contest and, by participating, agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Judging Panel and Public Vote, whose decisions are final. Participants agree that straightfromthehip.net is not liable for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by (or claimed to be caused by) the creation of a Submission, the participation in the Contest and/or being selected or disqualified as a Selected Submission.

NOTE: Internet entry must be made by the entrant, only at an Entry Site. Submissions made by any other individual or any entity, and/or originating at any other web site or e-mail address, including but not limited to commercial contest subscription notification and/or entering service sites, will be declared invalid and disqualified for this Contest. The use of any device to automate the entry process is prohibited.
